Youth basketball coaches are needed for the 5th grade girls and the 6th grade boys. Practices are held after school for one hour (after 3:00). The practice slots rotate with the other grades (5th through 8th). Practices also rotate between the gym and the outdoor courts. Games begin in January and are played against other local Catholic schools such as St. Lawrence, St. Martin, and St. John Vianney. There is typically a 3 day/week commitment between practices and games.
Coaches should have experience playing the game and know the basic rules. Coaching experience isn't required but is a plus for teaching the kids. What is most important is to teach the kids teamwork and sportsmanship.
Background check, TB check and Diocese online child safety course required.
