Every third Tuesday of the month the Japanese Friendship Garden is open free to San Diego residents! The JFG offers several volunteer opportunities every Free Tuesday morning, which include:
- Selling items in our rummage sale
- Assisting with cooking and serving in our cafe
- Running kids' activities and games such as origami, paper sumo wrestlers, toilet paper kokeshi dolls and more!
Get involved in any or all of these opportunities today!
Please note that the JFG does not accept court-ordered volunteer hours. Thank you for your understanding.

Mission Statement
The mission statement of the Japanese Friendship Garden Society and Museum of San Diego is to develop a traditional Japanese garden as a center to educate, engage and inspire people of diverse backgrounds about Japanese culture and community legacy.
Description
JFGM provides various opportunities for volunteers to learn and grow with the garden. From summer/winter camps, gardening/composting, activities for our vistors, taking care of bonsai trees, education on maintaining Koi fish and their ponds and many more Japanese related events that we hold throughout the year.
