Transportation is one of the biggest roadblocks to cancer treatment. The American Cancer Society Road to Recovery program helps provide the rides that can help save lives. For those cancer patients who cannot drive themselves or have no other means of getting to their appointments, volunteers donate their time and the use of their personal vehicle to provide patients rides to their potentially lifesaving treatments.
The Road to Recovery Coordinator in Lafayette will be responsible for matching the Road to Recovery volunteers with patients in need of a ride. They will be checking Service Match, our online system daily to ensure that patients are receiving rides to treatment. The Coordinator will be reaching out to local volunteers frequently about upcoming patients in need of rides.
