About

Girls at Willie L. Brown Jr. Middle School are participating in the Technovation program. Willie Brown is a low-income school with nearly 70% of students receiving free/reduced lunch. Technovation is the world's largest tech entrepreneurship program for girls 10-18. In teams, girls learn how to solve a problem in their community by building a tech startup.

As a mentor, you will guide the girls through the different lessons and help them build their idea. You do not need tech or business skills (but they are helpful). It's more important that you are willing to help the teams develop lifelong skills such as problem-solving, persistence, and curiosity.

As a mentor, your schedule is flexible- Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday anywhere between 3:15pm - 6pm. We know that time can be hard, but if you can commit to 3-5 times over the next few months, you will make a difference.
