Program:

College Avenue Social & Wellness Center is one of two thriving JFS older adult centers. Hundreds of participants enjoy daily meals, exercise classes, art classes, games, cultural programs, and live entertainment. This is a home away from home for many older adults.

Goal of Position:

Sunday Funday Survey Administrators will be there to distribute and collect event satisfaction surveys from the event attendees. These surveys provide valuable information for reporting on the Jewish Woman’s Initiative (JWI) Grant. The JWI grant helps isolated older Jewish women stay connected and supported through the Jewish Community.

Tasks/responsibilities:

• Greet older adult members as they enter lunch room
• Sit at the hostess table and pass out surveys forms
• Collect surveys forms and check they are filled out correctly

Qualifications:

• Must be friendly, outgoing, cheerful, kind and courteous
• Enjoy working and interacting with older adults

Requirements:

1. Must have reliable transportation to College Avenue Center
2. Must be at least 13 years or older
3. Complete a volunteer application at www.jfssd.org/volunteer
4. Attend a JFS volunteer interview with Volunteer Services staff

Time Commitment:

Sunday Funday is held on 4 Sundays throughout the year including Nov. 19th and Jan. 21st. Volunteers will be needed from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm.
