Celebrate the Season of Giving By Volunteering

The holidays mean a lot of things. For some it means fruitcake, snow, and presents. It also means giving back to your fellow man. Why not celebrate the Christmas spirit by volunteering for a good cause. Habitat for Humanity is looking for volunteers for its Aberdeen ReStore. The Aberdeen ReStore is a nonprofit store that is part of Habitat for Humanity. The ReStore takes donations of furniture, appliances, and building materials. The donations are sold at a fraction of the cost. Those profits are then used to build affordable homes for low income families in Cecil and Harford Counties. In order to maximize funding and reduce cost, the ReStore has a very small staff. It depends on volunteers to keep its doors open.


Volunteers would be assisting customers, helping in our donations drop off, and keeping our sales floor tidy. Volunteers need to be 16 years or older. Volunteers can be 14-15 years old if accompanied by a parent or guardian. This opportunity is great for students, people looking to development new friendships, and learning new job skills.
