BE A WARRIOR AND SUPPORT THE WARRIOR HIKE CHALLENGE! The San Diego County Parks and Recreation in partnership with the San Diego County Parks Society is hosting the bi-annual Warrior Hike Challenge, scheduled the Saturday before Memorial Day and Veterans Day! The Challenge is an adventure that explores the steep ups and downs of El Cajon Mountain and is designed to test the physical and mental stamina of our active duty and retired military personnel, their families, and supported.
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help with traffic control, check-in participants, promote hydration and sun protection, encourage participants at celebration stations along the trail (don't worry, we will transport you to and from the stations), and then help pack-up after the event. Remember, pack it in, pack it out!
You may serve part of the day or all of it! Shifts include:
- 6:30am-10:00am
- 10:30am-1:00pm
- 12:30pm-4:00pm
Volunteer parking is across the street at Oakoasis County Preserve, 12620 Wildcat Canyon Road, Lakeside, CA 92040.
Check-In and Event is at the trailhead in El Capitan County Preserve, 13775 Blue Sky Ranch Road, Lakeside, CA 92040. (Across the street from Oakoasis County Preserve.)
