South Coast Family Harbor

The volunteer would work either in a 2/3 year old classroom or a 3/4 year old classroom. They would
assist the teacher with activity transitions, read to children, encourage conversation with children as they work and play, model good manners at meal times, set-up materials, assist children in washing hands, and most importantly, see that children are being safe.

The Early Childhood Therapeutic Program provides individual child goals, a social/emotional focus, empowering the child, developmentally appropriate and safety.

Description

The main characteristics of a Relief Nursery is (1) respect and flexibility in meeting families' immediate needs, and long term goals (2) therapeutic early childhood classrooms for children 0-6, with a high ratio of adults to each child
(3)interwoven services and partnerships between families, staff and other services provided through nurturing home visiting and on site participation.
