ORGANIZATION: Forests Forever

Forests Forever is an environmental nonprofit based in Berkeley whose mission is to protect and enhance the forests and wildlife habitat of California through educational, legislative, and electoral activities.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers who can help us collect signatures for the Napa Watershed and Oak Woodland Protection Initiative of 2018. As a volunteer signature gatherer, you will engage with Napa voters, raise awareness of the issue and collect signatures to qualify this initiative for the June 2018 ballot.

Prior petitioning experience is a plus but not required.

The Napa County Watershed and Oak Woodland Protection Initiative of 2018 would create Water Quality Buffer Zones and Oak Woodland Removal Permit Process essential to strengthening conservation efforts through sustainable agricultural and business practices as well as protecting the community from further environmental destruction and its consequences.

Mission Statement

Forests Forever was founded in 1989 during the historic campaign to save the Headwaters ancient redwood forest in Humboldt County, California. Our efforts helped galvanize the broad-based public awareness and outcry that led to that and other forest victories across the state. For more than 25 years we have been rallying Californians in defense of the state’s 17 million acres of woodland ecosystems and watersheds. We engage in year-round education, grassroots organizing and executive-branch and legislative advocacy.
