Early Childhood Development Adviser Needed at WINSA

Early childhood development (ECD) is critical in the well being of a child. There is a positive link between early childhood learning and future holistic development of a child which, however, has not been clearly understood as revealed by Uganda's policy on ECD. Although the quality of ECD has slightly improved, the quality of learning in most of the schools still has many gaps. This applies to WINSA as a school. As a school WINSA has an enrollment of 457 pupils and out of this number, 140 pupils are in Pre-primary. The school has good structures for learners although these are inadequate and also the amount of instructional materials are limited. the major challenge in this regard is lack of adequate and quality teachers for ECD. this and other challenges hinder many parents to bring their children for ECD learning. Many children in Uganda do not go for ECD learning due to lack of trained personnel. As winsa a private school, this becomes more of a challenge as our wage bill cant allow us to attract quality resource people in regard to ECD. Therefore, we urgently need to have volunteer resource persons tot help improve the quality of learning at WINSA.
