Description for Event Planning and Operational Support Volunteer

Our upstart Montessori school serving children in Upper Elementary and Middle School (grades 4th - 8th) is seeking a volunteer to support our nonprofit school while we make a critical expansion of our program. Our mission is to utilize the Montessori philosophy to foster a diverse learning environment where children of all backgrounds excel and flourish. Montessori has been shown to reduce the achievement gap that persists in our education system between differing socioeconomic status. Breaking through this barrier in early adolescence as children develop a greater sense of independence is critically important to creating a more equitable world. Through our generous scholarship programs, we hope to bring Montessori education to more families in our area who traditionally cannot afford this option. To make this vision a reality, we rely on dedicated volunteers.

In support of our mission, we are looking for an energetic candidate who is passionate about education and youth for the following duties:

  • Support Fundraising Committee with event planning and outreach activities

  • Provide input on community events and marketing initiatives
  • Assist with creating, posting, and monitoring social media campaigns

  • Answer phones and schedule tours for prospective families

  • Manage supply orders
This position will also require occasional support with managing the school calendar and assisting the Executive Director, staff, volunteers, and/or board of directors with scheduling and reminders

Hours and location: The Administrative Support Volunteer position is based on-site at our Farmers Branch, TX campus Monday through Friday from 12:30 - 3:45 (exact hours are somewhat flexible).

The ideal candidate with have experience with social media campaigns, office work, and community engagement.
