Organization Overview:

Migration will be the challenge of a generation. Campfire Innovation ensures that the grassroots teams facing these challenges can access what they need to deliver smart, efficient and dignified aid to refugees.

Campfire Innovation brings actors together from across all fields for smarter aid and advocates for the voice of grassroots initiatives to be included in the humanitarian sector. They increase collaboration amongst grassroots, connect them to a growing network of resources to help them increase their capacity and are creating a network of organizations and individuals passionate about aid that puts the dignity of refugees at its core.

Campfire Innovation was founded in September 2016 as an idea that you can have humane, dignified, effective aid for refugees.

Campfire Innovation believes it takes bringing together passionate grassroots, volunteer and civil society initiatives and pulling in a network of individuals and organizations that are willing to support this new type of aid.

Job Responsibilities:

Campfire Innovation's Pro Bono Experts program empowers highly skilled individuals to engage in humanitarian innovation. There are many opportunities for experts and professionals to make a big difference in smaller organizations. Campfire Innovation is currently seeking professionals with nonprofit experience and fundraising expertise to participate in pro bono projects to support the grassroots community in Greece. There are amazing grassroots organizations providing dignified aid to refugees that are in need of a diversified and consistent funding strategy. Do you have experience applying for grants, building relationships with key donors, planning fundraising events, or tracking impact metrics? The grassroots community is in need of your expertise! Apply to be a pro bono expert and be matched with an organization in need of your support today!

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must have at least 3 years of professional work experience
  • Must be able to participate in pro bono projects for at least 2 weeks in Greece
  • Must be able to cover costs and expenses for travel to Greece, accommodation and food during stay

CAMPFIRE Innovation’s activities are designed to act as a support mechanism for the growth of grassroots teams.

We are currently active in Greece, identifying grassroots organizations and projects providing relief to over 60,000 people.

INCREASING COLLABORATION

We connect projects to work together, share resources and creating projects complement each other.

BRINGING ACCESS TO RESOURCES

We are building partnerships with those that wish to support grassroots innovation and increase access to:

- Legal advice for new projects, qualified volunteers.
- Expertise (tech, fundraising, organizational growth).

MAPPING GRASSROOTS RESPONSE
We research and highlight the full range of the grassroots response and the best practices they are developing.

Our goal is to increase the sustainability and efficiency of projects that put dignity at the core of refugee response.
