If you answered yes to any of these questions, Kindred Hospice of Springfield, IL is looking for you. Kindred volunteers help provide hospice patients and their families with the most comfortable and compassionate end-of-life experience possible. Kindred volunteers offer companionship and a comforting presence as they sit with patients, play music to create a soothing atmosphere, or help the family with light chores. Or, if they prefer, they may focus their efforts at helping with general tasks in the hospice office. Whether directly or indirectly involved with the patient and family, they use their unique talents and personality to support the patients and families.

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Four hours per month or more
  • 12 hours of helpful training covering topics related to hospice, basic medical screening
