We are looking for responsible, reliable volunteers who can work Monday mornings or Friday mornings.

Valley Humane Society is a small rescue group, we do not have paid staff to care for our animals we rely 100% on volunteers to care for our animals.

Morning cat care starts at 8:00am and finishes no later than 10:00am.

Cat Care: Focus is on providing the best care and socialization to our shelter cats.
Responsibilities include:

  • Feeding cats
  • Documenting findings in each cat's medical chart
  • Loading and unloading dishes in dishwasher
  • Cleaning kennels which includes sanitizing the kennel
  • Change and/or shake out their blankets
  • Cleaning litter boxes
  • Sweeping and tiding up Kitty City and feature rooms in the hall way
  • Disinfecting the litter scoops
A volunteer orientation and Cat Care training are required as well as volunteering on a weekly shift.

Valley Humane Society has worked to save and improve the lives of Tri-Valley companion animals since 1987. Our vision is of a world in which every animal is loved and every person knows the love of an animal. As a 501(c)(3) nonpr ofit organization, our programs and services are made possible by the generosity of private donors - we receive no government funds, tax dollars, or money from national humane organizations. Our small staff is supported by hundreds of volunteers involved in every aspect of animal care, program operation and administration.
