ORGANIZATION: Lenox Hill Neighborhood House

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers, is a 123-year-old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services which significantly improve the lives of 15,000 people in need each year on the East Side of Manhattan. Our Senior Center at East 54th Street and Lexington Avenue is a vibrant program that provides hundreds of older adults with educational, cultural, health and social activities every week. We are seeking instructors for a variety of classes and activities including:

  • Zumba
  • Chair Yoga
  • Mah Jong
  • Line Dancing
  • Conversational Italian
  • Book Discussion Group
  • Digital Photography

Instructors lead their respective classes/activities once per week on weekdays. Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, widely recognized as one of New York's premier human services providers, is a 130-year-old settlement house that provides an extensive array of effective and integrated services--social, educational, legal, health, housing, mental health, nutritional and fitness--which significantly improve the lives of 15,000 people in need each year, ages 3 to 103, on the East Side of Manhattan. Our clients include older adults, homeless and formerly homeless adults, children and families, recent immigrants, disabled persons, adult learners and thousands more. Description

Lenox Hill Neighborhood House was founded in 1894 by the Alumnae Association of Normal College (now known as Hunter College of the City University of New York) as a free kindergarten for the children of indigent immigrants. Since then, we have remained at the forefront of community advocacy and social and educational change.
