TITLE:Front Desk Intern

(Minimal of 10 hours per week and shifts between1pm-8pm M-F)

REPORTS TO:Coordinator of Homeless Youth Programs

JOB SUMMARY:

Assist staff with daily responsibilities necessary to help youth find the resources they need at SafeZone.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Direct youth to areas within SafeZone for showers, food, clothing, computers
  • Keep front desk tidy and presentable with all necessary material (pens, forms, paper etc.)
  • Greet and welcome clients
  • Answer questions and address complaints
  • Answer all incoming calls and redirect them or keep messages
  • Answer phones and assist at the front desk
  • Work in the clothing closet and assist with special projects
  • Upkeep of the drop in center
  • Assist youth with their toddlers and babies as they find resources at SafeZone
  • Comply with agency’s written policies
  • Model behavior that is consistent with, and supportive of, healthy adolescent development

  • Problem-solving skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Experience working with homeless, runaway, and other at-risk youth (preferred)
