Give the Gift of a Lift to a McHenry County senior in need... just an hour of your time makes a difference! Our senior care receivers all over McHenry County are counting on a volunteer to drive them to a doctor's appointment, life saving dialysis appointment or a shopping errand, etc. Volunteering is flexible, and on YOUR time. Please call or email our volunteer coordinator; Karina at (815) 455- 3120 ext 101, or karina@scvnmchenrycounty.org to get started. There is no year long or so commitment or contract to volunteer, and YOU choose the day and time you can volunteer!
McHenry County has the 3rd largest senior population in the state of Illinois, and we have many seniors who live independently in their own home, town home or apartment, but are no longer able to drive or do not own a car... and so our no-cost transportation services are very needed all over the county. *Mileage reimbursement is available for volunteers to offset the cost of gas. A senior is waiting for you to sign up today, and they will be very grateful for a ride!

Mission Statement
Senior Care Volunteer Network (formerly Faith in Action) is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization that serves all seniors, age 60 and older, who live at home or with a loved one in McHenry County and Sun City, Huntley. Our mission is to help these seniors remain independent and at home for as long and as safely as possible. We are able to accomplish our mission through our dedicated volunteers who provide a number of valuable services, all at absolutely no charge to the senior or their family members.
Description
Services provided include transportation to life essential and life enriching destinations, friendly visits, respite relief to caregivers, yard work and minor home repairs. Senior Care Volunteer Network also provides a lending closet for durable medical equipment and delivery of incontinence products.
Volunteers set their own schedule and decide what days and how many hours they can help. In addition to hands-on opportunities assisting seniors in need, we also utilize the skills of volunteers in our office and for special events such as fundraising or expos.
