About

The American Heart Association, in collaboration with 412 Food Rescue is reaching out to 60 communities around Allegheny County with Healthy BP for All!

Healthy BP for All is a community-based effort that aims to improve high blood pressure by combining health education, self-monitoring tools and healthy cooking classes. Healthy BP for All combines American Heart Association’s Check. Change. Control program with 412 Food Rescue’s Cooking Matters program, and we want to bring 60 communities around the region.

Here is your opportunity to join us as a Community Health Volunteer! The role of the Community Health Volunteer will be to help health mentors and instructors with kitchen set-up and clean-up, participant supervision, put together take-home grocery bags, help to distribute and collect evaluations, among other tasks.

Time commitment will be minimum 1 hour a week. Locations may vary depending on your availability and transportation.
