The Anaheim Family YMCA is seeking 12 applicants for a new leadership and civic engagement program that places young people in volunteer positions to serve as Early Learning Readiness Project Facilitators.
Launched in 2016 by the Corporation for National and Community Services (CNCS), the AmeriCorps Affiliate program provides youth opportunities to to gain workplace skills, serve their community and be part of a national service movement.
This Fall, AmeriCorps Affiliate Members service as ELR Project Facilitators will be placed at service locations to help provide a stimulating classroom environment for children 0-5 years of age to play and learn while developing the physical, verbal and social skills they'll need to start school and ready to succeed.
Members who fully complete 100 hours of service will receive an education award of $327.38, which can be used towards future education expenses or for paying off student loans.
