Community Resources' Academic Mentors Project creates opportunities for high achieving, ambitious 5th -11th grade Denver Public School students who have a passion or interest in a particular topic to connect with community volunteers who share that area of passion or specific career focus. The program is currently recruiting software engineers to work one on one with middle school students who are interested in learning more about programming. Volunteers are asked to commit a total of six hours over the course of 3 - 6 meetings with the student. All mentorships begin and end in the current school year. For more information, please visit Community Resources' website www.communityresourcesinc.org or contact Laura Kent, Program Manager at laura_kent@dpsk12.org.
