Victoria One Hospice, Inc. volunteers offer support, companionship and practical, compassionate help. Some interact directly with patients and families. Others prefer to work behind the scenes in the office setting. As a volunteer, you help determine which tasks you’re best suited to perform. The tasks of volunteers include:

  • Helping with office support tasks at the agency
  • Running errands for patients and families
  • Staying with patients so family members can get a much-needed rest
  • Reading, or providing a comforting touch
  • Playing or singing soothing music to patients
  • Keeping vigil with patients in their final hours
  • Providing a friendly visit to lift a patient's spirits
  • These and other tasks are why hospice volunteers are such an essential part of the Victoria One Hospice, Inc. experience.

Mission Statement

Victoria One Hospice is committed to providing comfort, care, and compassion to our patients as well as their loved ones. Our mission is to enhance the hospice patients quality of life by managing their symptoms and promoting their physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Our goal is to ease the emotional burdens of the patients as their loved ones experience the end of their lives journeys. With patient care our top priority, we recognize that their loved ones too need support and guidance. Hospice allows the patient to be cared for wherever place they call home: including their family residence, long-term care facility, assisted living facility, or in a hospital setting.
