Please visit the new page to apply.
501 Commons is seeking experienced nonprofit consultants to volunteer for our 2018 Springboard for the Arts program. Springboard provides arts and cultural leaders with the skills, tools, and information they need to advance their organizational mission with strength, adaptability, and clarity. This is a great opportunity for nonprofit consultants to work together in an active learning program that will impact individual organizations as well as the entire nonprofit sector.
The program runs from February - June 2018 and the time commitment is 10-12 hours per month (or 2-3 hours per week). This opportunity is ideal for volunteers who have at least 5 years nonprofit experience, particularly in the arts, have planning and facilitation skills, and the ability to develop a detailed and professional-quality written plan.
If you are not already a member of 501 Commons Service Corps, you will be asked to submit an online application to the 501 Commons Service Corps and attend an interview by January 19, 2017. As a Service Corps Member and volunteer with Springboard, you will:
- Have access to our online trainings, resource library, and professional development workshops
- Learn new skills that fuel personal and professional growth
- Have the opportunity to help an organization more effectively deliver their mission
Volunteer consultants will be matched with a participating organization by early February. For more information, please contact Program Manager Catherine Nueva EspaƱa at catherine@501commons.org

Description
501 Commons was founded in 1989 as Executive Service Corps of Washington. In 2010, we changed our name to 501 Commons, reflecting a changing role and broader range of services. Most of our clients are in the Pacific Northwest, but many of our services are available to nonprofits in other geographic areas.
Our name is based on the principle of the "the commons." The commons can be characterized as having five distinct attributes:
- Free and uncoerced participation
- A shared purpose
- Jointly held resources
- A sense of mutuality
- Relationships that are characterized by justice and fairness
Our Theory of Practice describes how we approach our work and our Team Charter describes how our team of 45+ work together to serve our clients.
501 Commons is a 501(c)(3) tax-deductible, nonprofit, charitable organization and is a member of the Executive Service Corps - United States. By volunteering your time to 501 Commons, you are impacting the success of over 2,000 organizations each year. Join us!
