Our patient volunteers are very special to us, not only are they there to relieve a caregiver so they may have a break, but they also get one on one time with the patients. Your duties toward the patient would be sitting there with them, listening to them talk, reading them a book, watching television even something as simple as holding there hand or brushing there hair giving them something to drink, there are endless possibilities. We do have bed bound patients who sleep most of the time and in that case you are more than welcome to sit beside them and read a book, work on your tablet or what ever you like to do. Just being there gives the caregivers such a huge since of relieve.
