Be part of a unique City of Carlsbad volunteer opportunity...

Visit a Carlsbad third grade classroom as part of the City of Carlsbad's CityStuff program, and present hands-on activities to teach students about local government. Set up a schedule that works for both you and the teacher during the school day.

You are provided with the materials, training and support to present five, one-hour lessons. The program culminates with a sixth lesson at the city's Council Chamber, where the students present a mock council meeting about saving or cutting down an 80-year old tree. Each student has a part in the participation as the mayor, council members, local experts or residents.

Find out how fun and rewarding your participation can be as the third graders experience democracy in action and learn about their city through you.
