We’re looking for volunteers who have a passion for service and understand that all the little things matter during a hospital stay. Ronald McDonald House Charities needs your help to support families who have children in the hospital at Riverside Methodist.

Located inside OhioHealth’s Riverside Methodist Hospital, the Ronald McDonald House Family Room is a space for families to retreat to when they need a snack, a rest, a shower, or simply a quiet break from the patient’s hospital room. Family Room volunteers provide kind, compassionate service to families by welcoming and registering guests, making sure the Family Room is stocked with supplies and snacks, and acting as a representatives of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio.

Family Room Volunteers usually work alone or with one volunteer. Volunteers must be over the age of 18, agree to a background check and attend orientation so we can give you all the tools you need to support families who visit the Family Room. Family Room volunteers are kind and friendly, dependable and have excellent communication skills. This volunteer opportunity is located inside Riverside Methodist Hospital. Free parking hospital parking is available to Family Room Volunteers. Volunteers must commit to a weekly or biweekly schedule or agree to being able to 'fill-in' at least once a month when there are holes in the schedule.

Covid-19 Protocols: Face mask must be worn at all times, and volunteer must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 unless there is a religious or medical exemption.
