The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
Share your love of the slopes! Join our family of adaptive ski & snowboard volunteers and help teach adaptive skiing or snowboarding to youth and adults with physical disabilities. You will be paired with an experienced volunteer to instruct the same student each week. We will provide exceptional On-the-Hill training, a lift ticket on the day you volunteer and ongoing support. Volunteers provide their own ski or snowboard equipment and helmet.

Takes place at Spirit Mountain (January thru mid-March) on: Tuesdays or Thursdays, 5:30-8:00pm OR Sundays from 2:00-4:00pm Please note: new volunteers must register in the fall months prior to Dryland Training (it's done online and only takes a couple minutes!)
Dryland Training (new volunteers): Saturday, Nov. 10, 9:00-1:00, Spirit Mountain
On the Hill training (all volunteers): Spirit Mt, Dec. 8 & 9 (9-3 pm both days) OR Giants Ridge, Jan. 5 & 6 (9-3 pm both days)

Time commitment: once a week (2-3 hrs) for 8 weeks
New volunteers must attend one day of Dryland Training and two days of On the Hill Training
