At Sacred Heart Community Clinic in Round Rock Texas, the VISTA Member will be working to increase community awareness, engagement and donations. To do this the VISTA Member will attend community events, create promotional materials and improve the clinic’s existing web presence. He/she will also be responsible for coordinating in-kind and sponsor donations for annual gala event. The VISTA Member will also be researching and applying to community grants. Experience in WordPress and social media campaigns is a plus. The Texas Association of Charitable Clinic, (TXACC) founded in 2003 is a private, not for profit 501(c)3 membership association that supports Texas' free and charitable clinics. Through mentoring, the provision of resources and education and advocacy efforts, TXACC seeks to strengthen the charitable clinic network in Texas. The Texas Association of Charitable Clinics VISTA Program seeks to place members who are committed to national service and public health in the clinics throughout Texas that are dedicated to providing quality healthcare services to low-income individuals. The AmeriCorps VISTA Program is designed to function as a stateside Peace Corps, which places high quality, dedicated individuals in poverty facing non-profit organizations throughout the country. AmeriCorps VISTA is one of many programs through the Corporation for National and Community Service. Over the course of the year, VISTA Members receive a bi-weekly living allowance of $486. VISTA Members serve on a full-time basis for one full calendar year. Upon completion of Service, VISTA Members are eligible to receive $5,920 Education Award or $1,800 cash stipend. Today, over 7,000 VISTA Members serve to alleviate the burden of poverty felt by over 46 Million Americans. The Texas Association of Charitable Clinics, TXACC, is a private nonprofit organiztaion that provides support, education, rsources and advocacy to free and charitable clinics statewide in Texas. These are clinics largely run by volunteers providing low cost care to people who are low-income and uninsured.
Texas Association of Charitable Clinics (TXACC) is a private, not-for-profit membership association - 501 (c)(3) that supports Texas’ free and charitable clinics.
Through mentoring, the provision of resources, education, advocacy efforts, and services, TXACC seeks to strengthen the charitable clinic system in Texas. Each of our more than 70 clinics is an independent enterprise. Some are faith-based, others are community-based. All are established as 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organizations.
