We need a talented and experienced young rider who has ridden several horses to exercise our new former hunter jumper pony mare, Sadie. The pony is 13.1 hands, 14 years old and has had experience in English hunt seat and jumping under 2 ' obstacles. In her past she was used for lessons in a jumping program. and was ridden on contact with a bridle and bit.
She should not carry more than 130 lbs and our objective is to work her at walk trot transitions. She will not be required to jump or canter here, but must be very responsive to leg and weight cues. She should stand quietly, at the mounting block and move through transitions and stops easily. She lacks muscle tone now and needs to build strength and balance gradually. Ideally her rider should come at least twice a week to work with her for an hour in the arena each time and be willing to groom and tack her up and brush her after her exercise and put the equipment used away before she leaves. The rider must have insurance and sign a liability release and a parental consent and liability release form. Helmet is required and appropriate footware. Available times are any weekday morning or Monday, Tuesday, Friday or Sunday afternoons.

We conduct individual riding lessons on ponies and need trained volunteers for leading and side walking to protect the physically or emotionally impaired clients. Volunteers must be available for six lessons in six weeks. Please contact us if your schedule allows for your consistent participation since scheduling depends on volunteer presence. All volunteer training is provided in advance of engaging in lessons for impaired clients. Please go to the website: http://www.dreamriderwwquestriantherapy.com and download the volunteer packet, which contains required information for us to insure you when you participate.
We also need competent horse trainers and riders to condition our therapy ponies.
If your talent is in community outreach, grant writing or fund raising and you cannot regularly assist in lessons, help is needed in outreach as well to sustain and promote the program.
