Do you have a special place in your heart for those who have suffered the loss of a loved one?
Then being a Brookdale Hospice Bereavement volunteer might be the perfect fit for you as you look for ways to "give back."
A phone call just checking in from a volunteer can be very meaningful to the families and loved ones grieving the loss of one of our hospice patients. This is the work of our bereavement volunteers -- a phone call just to say "we're thinking about you...is there anything we can do for you during this time."
In addition to our standard training for hospice volunteers, bereavement volunteers receive additional specialized training in how to interact with grieving loved ones. Or it may be assisting with mailings to our families.
If this is something you feel you might be interested in, let us know. This is a great way for someone who wants to be a hospice volunteer but is uncomfortable with seeing patients to be a part of our care (and caring) team.
We would love to work with you in serving our families!
