Are you good at cleaning and organizing? Do you have a few hours that you could spare for a hospice patient in need? Grace Hospice has a home-bound patient in Michigan City that could use a helper for cleaning and organizing (along with a little companionship.)
No hospice experience is necessary, as we will proivde all the training and screenings necessary to begin hospice volunteering. There is no charge to any volunteer, and you can set your own hours and days that you spend helping others. That's convenience!

Description
HarmonyCares Hospice of Indiana is the first HarmonyCares Hospice in the state and has Nurses, CNA's/Hospice Aides, Social Workers, Chaplains and Volunteers that assist the patients and support their families wherever the patient considers their "home" to be.
The hospice philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. The goal of hospice care is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. Hospice care can also be provided in a long-term care facility or an assisted living facility.
Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end stage of life. It is a program for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame.
We strive to improve the quality of life for all we serve including our patient's families, their neighbors, and the community they live in. We strive to make an impact with everyone we meet and improve the community as a whole.
