If you answered yes, have you ever considered volunteering with Hospice? Grace Hospice of Richmond needs your help with this. We are looking for caring & compassionate men & women to visit with our patients. The little time you give means so much to those who need it. You can spend time with them talking, reading or just watching TV. The possibilities are endless. Just having someone there can mean the world to those who may not have anyone. You can also offer respite visits for the caregiver who may be taking care of their loved one 24/7, so they can run to the store or keep their own appointments. If this sounds like something you would like to do, please contact us today! You can find more information on volunteering with Grace Hospice and complete the application on our website www.ghospice.com.

We need volunteers throughout the greater Richmond area. Thank you for whatever you decide to volunteer for, it means so much to any organization you volunteer with!

Mission Statement

For each employee to treat every patient as their own treasured loved one, providing care that affords a quality of life that outweighs quantity of day, and supports caregivers as their hearts find healing

Description

Hospice care is not just for the patient. It also provides emotional support for the entire family. Hospice is a philosophy of caring for patients whose medical conditions are not responding to treatment or for those patients who choose not to seek aggressive medical care at the end state of life. Our program is for patients who are considered terminal and are expected to live six months or less if the disease follows its natural course, although many patients outlive this time frame. Our philosophy focuses on comfort care not curative care. Our goal is for the patient to remain as comfortable and pain-free as possible in their own home or the home of a loved one through the end of life. We also serve patients who are living in long-term and assisted living facilities.
