MoGro Mobile Grocery is a nonprofit project of the Santa Fe Community Foundation. Typically, we pack bags of produce that have 8 mixed fruits and veggies. We offer the bags on a sliding scale ($5 with EBT, or $10, $20 or $25) in efforts to make healthy food more accessible. We work with as many local farmers each week as we can to put together these bags, thus supporting farmers, or local economy and our community. Our members pre-order bags for pick up each week at one of our pickup locations in Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Espanola and Pecos.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have paused our normal operations and are not dropping off bags at our typical pickup locations. Instead, we are packing and delivering large bags produce to communities in need. We have been donating 190 bags to Zia Pueblo (1 for each household) every other week. We have also been partnering with Jemez Pueblo, Three Sisters Kitchen, and others to pack bags for their communities and program participants to ensure that as many people as possible have access to fresh, healthy food during this time. On June 03, 2020 we will be reopening in a limited capacity in efforts to serve our members again. We will be doing drive-up distributions out of the back of our refrigerated truck in Albuquerque & Santa Fe on a biweekly rotating basis.
We need help packing our produce and grocery bags for our COVID-19 relief efforts. We pack every Tuesday from 2:30 - 7:30 at Roadrunner Food Bank.
Send us an email if you're interested in having a hands-on impact during this time of great need for so many! We're looking forward to hearing from you.
