Help us bring Tacoma’s birthplace to life through interactive learning for elementary students and our community. Bring the past to life for children and families with stories and folk tales from the Northwest. Share tales about the Native American and pioneer experience, as well as the natural environment of Puget Sound.
Volunteer storytellers may perform during school field trips and special events, such as our Summer Storytime series. Storytelling sessions vary from 15 to 30 minutes. Multiple opportunities are available.
We welcome volunteers of all ages, interests and skill levels. Volunteers with experience in storytelling, theater, education and history are strongly encouraged to apply. Stipends may be available. All volunteers must complete a volunteer application form and successfully pass a security background check.
