Veteran & Active Military Volunteers Needed for Hospice Veteran Patients

AccentCare Hospice, a local faith-based hospice, is searching for a dedicated team to further the We Honor Veterans Program! Volunteers can work weekly, bi-monthly, monthly, or yearly with this project, as it is ongoing and education-based.

We Honor Veterans (http://www.wehonorveterans.org/) is a collaborative program developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Veterans Administration to further the veteran-centric care of our nations heros in their final months. WHV teaches hospice providers and their partner organizations about veteran-related conditions, veteran-centric policies and procedures, and community outreach for veteran care/advocacy.

WHV also partners with the Veterans History Project (http://www.loc.gov/vets/) and the Honor Flight program (www.honorflight.org) (currently on hold in Oklahoma due to funding) - and Accentcare would like this team to help develop these programs in the Tampa Area!!

WHV Program volunteers can work in the AccentCare office, from home, in area nursing facilities, or on-line. Any commitment of time each month is appreciated!!
