The Partnership for Age Friendly Communities invites community members to join a test project to ascertain if film can change attitudes of ageism. A team is being formed to explore audience members' biases and attitudes toward aging through viewing a film, then discussing positive and negative images of aging. The project would show one commercially distributed film each month for three months to community residents, each followed by a discussion of audience experiences of and attitudes towards ageism. Audience attitudes would be surveyed before and after the film and discussion. Members of the team would pick the films, find a discussion leader, find the venue, market it to the community, create the survey and analyze the results. People with marketing experience, cultural sensitivity to aging, facilitation skills, and/or grant writing experience are encouraged to put these skills to use as members of this team.

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Volunteers of America provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 years and older to use their skills, insight and lifetime experiences to assist residents and non-profit agencies in the county. RSVP also offers a variety of programs which provide services and enhance the quality of life for seniors.
