We are looking for volunteers to join our Heartland Hospice team in the Jackson, Ovid, Albion area. My name is Lori Case and I am the volunteer coordinator at Heartland. Volunteers are an intricate part of our team and provide a great insight to our patients. Once your training is complete which includes, fingerprinting, background check, 2 step TB test and training your schedule is 100 percent flexible to the time that you have available to volunteer. We strive for seeing a patient once a week. Our Patients love visitors, whether it just be to socialize, sing, go for a walk etc... I am very involved with our volunteers and take great pride in the service we provide to patients and also think the world of people that are willing to volunteer their time for someone in need. Description
Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.
