Want to make a difference in your community? Join us to be certified as a workshop leader for the Stanford University developed Living Healthy with Chronic Conditions- an evidence-based program designed to help others to coordinate their chronic disorders, manage their own health, stay active, and take charge!

Leaders work in pairs to lead the six week workshop in community settings such as senior
centers, libraries and churches. No previous healthcare or education experience required.


December 9, 10, 16, 17, 2019
9am to 4pm each day
Must attend all 4 training days to become a lay leader.

Cost: $60 (includes lunch and materials)

Limited scholarships available for community volunteers.

The PTRC is one of 16 regional councils in North Carolina. We are designated by the State of NC to serve as the lead regional organization for the Piedmont Triad region. We serve 73 member governments in a 12 county area. Member Counties: Alamance County Caswell County Davidson County Davie County Forsyth County Guilford County Montgomery County Randolph County Rockingham County Stokes County Surry County Yadkin County

Description

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is a voluntary association of local governments - urban and rural - authorized by state law to:
* Make and implement joint regional decisions;
* Provide management, planning and technical services to local governments;
* Identify and solve short and long-term problems best addressed at the regional level;
* Bring together local elected officials on a regular basis, giving them an opportunity to form working relationships:
* Promote regional issues and cooperation among members.
