The Garden

ORLANDO CARES The Garden is a garden based education program for elementary students. Students learn about agriculture, gardening, nutrition and environmental science. Each child gets to plant their own container garden and take care of a community garden at their community center.

At the end of the program we have a Harvest Celebration where we congratulate the students on their hard work. Students harvest all of their vegetables and herbs they have grown and cook a nutritious meal alongside a local chef. Everyone who has helped with the program along the way is invited to celebrate and enjoy the garden fresh meal with us.

We love to involve local chefs in the Harvest Celebration. They help to lead the cooking portion of the Harvest Celebration in an educational manner and are invited to stay to celebrate with everyone.

We will have two Harvest Celebrations this season.
