ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

The SoulDeevas are looking for a creative and talented individual to serve as an Assistant Team Manager and help us build a dynamic team in NYC. .

You would be responsible for

  • helping with recruitment for our various teams
  • taking attendance at tryouts and practices
  • checking new participant paperwork to ensure it's complete
  • managing the team's calendar
  • assisting with finding competitions and performance opportunities
  • finding team uniforms (shopping around for the lowest prices)
  • assisting with taking student measurements
  • assisting with finding venues for events and auditions
  • assisting with finding and implementing fundraising programs
  • interviewing potential coaches and other team staff
  • taking pictures and video at events/practices
  • assisting with finding props and other equipment at the lowest possible prices
  • helping with finding and arranging transportation (searching for the most economical options)
  • coordinating with the NJ team manager when needed and more.
A great deal of this work can be done virtually, but we would also need the Assistant Manager to be available on Saturdays starting in December - we are nailing down a practice location in Manhattan. If possible, we would also love to have you participate in a free community step and majorette team workshop on Saturday, November 4th from 1pm to 5pm (but this is not mandatory).

We have a great vision for the young ladies who will become part of the SoulDeevas which includes local and national exposure. We are looking for an Assistant Manager who can be dedicated to the organization and help us put the SoulDeevas on the map.

Description

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.

Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
