Description
For patients experiencing life-limiting illnesses or injuries, Loyola Medicine’s hospice program provides compassionate and comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients. Hospice care is for patients with terminal illness or injury and intended to provide comfort and relief from pain, allowing for the highest quality of life possible during the time that remains.
Loyola’s skilled doctors, nurses, therapists, chaplains and home health aides provide care that focuses not only on medical issues, but also emotional and spiritual needs. Care is provided in the patient's home, with inpatient care for symptom control and pain management provided at Loyola University Medical Center. Respite care is provided at skilled nursing facilities or at long-term care facilities in the community.
Loyola’s hospice team also provides support for the patient’s family, providing counseling, comfort and guidance on caring for your loved one with dignity. Loyola’s hospice care team is available 24/7.
