Currently looking to add some amazing, compassionate, engaging volunteers to our current team! Victory Gym VHC is a local gym dedicated to helping military personnel (active duty and veterans)and first responders (police, firefighters, EMTs) conquer PTSD through physical activity, peer support, and connection.
Volunteers will help by creating a welcoming environment for all members, managing the counter and register for sales and memberships, and keeping up with daily cleaning tasks. The entire gym is ran on volunteer hours by lovely people like you! We have plenty of different shift times available, I hope to talk to some of you very soon!

Mission Statement
To conquer PTSD Through Physical Activity, Peer Support, and Connection
Description
Every day, 22 veteran lives are lost to suicide, often as a consequence of PTSD related depression and isolation. Our mission is to end this terrible statistic. Victory Gym VHC was formed and continues to be operated by disabled veterans with the assistance of civilian volunteers. We have the unique ability to address the specific needs of combat veterans through firsthand knowledge. Victory Gym VHC offers a community where members "speak the same language", share similar experiences, and can once again feel comradery and a sense of importance.
The goal at Victory Gym VHC is to promote a healthy lifestyle through physical fitness, peer PTSD and caregiver therapy, woodworking and art therapy, team building, and social interaction. All services are provided to veterans, members of our armed services, and first responders at no cost. Civilian members are welcomed at a nominal monthly fee as part of an effort to serve the local community while facilitating the transition of veterans into a non-military environment. We are also in the process of developing and implementing at-risk youth group counseling and physical fitness programs.
