Reclaim! is an event of Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse. Multiple design firms from across the Pittsburgh area are going to drop off tons (literally) of design samples perfect for reuse. These design samples include things like carpet pieces, wooden boards, decorative tiles, paint swatches, and more. Art and craft supplies, vintage goodies, and other miscellaneous items will be added to the sale. For a $5 minimum donation, attendees can take as much as you want!
The event is open to the public Saturday, November 4th, from 11 am-6 pm.
This is a rather large event, so we need a lot of help leading up to the event and afterward to clean up. We are looking for individuals or groups. Volunteers must be 18+. Shifts are a minimum of 2 hours long (can be longer if you're up for it!) and will include heavy lifting, scraping samples off of paperboard backing, unloading trucks, restocking materials, sorting, etc. Volunteers must be able to consistently lift 30-50 lbs for their shift.
This event is a lot of fun, and we get some awesome materials donated for it. Volunteers will be thanked for their time with a 20% off coupon for our retail store (next door to the event) and all the free materials they want from Reclaim!, which can be collected at the end of a volunteer shift.
- Volunteer shifts on November 3rd: 10 am-12 pm, 12 pm-2 pm, 2 pm-4 pm, 4 pm-6 pm, 6 pm-8 pm (these are somewhat flexible)
- Volunteer shifts on November 4th: 10:30 am-12:30 pm, 12 pm-2 pm, 2 pm-4 pm, 4 pm-6 pm, 6 pm-8 pm (somewhat flexible)
- If you choose to volunteer during the event (11-6), you will also be asked to assist customers and help customers take materials to their car.
Thank you for your support!

Description
The Creative Reuse retail store is like an I Spy book in real life! A thrift and craft store in one, we have tons of donated materials thanks to the individuals and businesses in our community. If you’re looking for affordable art and craft supplies, fabric, yarn, sewing notions, office supplies, paper, business and industrial discards and surplus, or vintage curiosities to incorporate into your creative project, you’ll love our shop. We’re open every day from 11 am to 6 pm!
Pittsburgh is on its way to becoming a reuse-centered city, and our shop is a large part of this movement. In 2016 alone, Creative Reuse diverted 41 tons of usable materials from the landfill!
Volunteers are integral to our success, and we couldn't do what we do without them. If you want to work in a creative environment and inspire others, please go to pccr.org/volunteer to fill out an application. We can't wait to meet you!
