ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

"If you build it, they will come!"

We are looking for committed brothers (ages 20-older) from any area in New Jersey to pledge Nu Sigma Theta, an organization formed for social networking, mentoring, service and professional development. Young men who are 18/19 and are out of school are also welcomed to apply under this opportunity.

We are striving to build a strong network of men who support one another and mentor our young men, particularly as our country finds itself in a state of division and crisis.

Current brothers live in New York, Nigeria, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. Our goal is to someday have one brother in every state. Men who have interest/skills in the arts, education and sports are of particular interest.

We are looking to build a collaborative network of men who are committed to personal development and who are willing to help us with random acts of kindness and community service to benefit our local and global communities, especially as we enter the holiday season where so many people are lost and alone. We are also hoping to develop programs and opportunities for boys both locally and nationally.

Each month, we send out a "Community Service Planner" with a list of projects and activities that we will do for that month. The majority can be done from home. You do the projects that you are most interested in and/or that you have time to do. Also, we share information about business ownership, business funding opportunities and scholarship information and also do an annual resume review for those who need it. Once we get to know you, we also serve as a professional reference if you need that. More than anything, we are a growing brotherhood that hopes to provide support to men across the globe. There are also some "in-person" activities that you can participate in if you want.

Candidates must have an email address that is checked at least monthly.

To join, please respond with this mini-application -

**Although not specifically mentioned in this ad, we also receive female members and teens (ages 12-19). As this is the last time we will be recruiting for 2017, feel free to share this information. Recruitment closes at the end of October.
