Answer a call for help!
What is the Oasis Teen Line?
The Oasis Teen Line provides safe, effective, and compassionate support for youth in crisis during the evening and overnight hours (4pm-8am),
How can I help?
Oasis Teen Line volunteers respond to calls dealing with multiple issues youth face every day, such as depression, homelessness, loneliness, substance abuse, suicide, etc. As a volunteer, you can provide resources and a safe place to be heard. With that comes validation, empowerment, support, encouragement, and love.
Volunteers are...
- people who remain calm in stressful situations
- able to listen to others with empathy and without passing judgment
- passionate about caring for hurting youth
Volunteers have the flexibility to choose a two-hour shift between 4pm-11pm at least once a month.
Volunteers can take calls wherever they are; our crisis number forwards directly to your personal or home phone, keeping you anonymous.
Training
- Part One: 8 Hour orientation/ Training
- Part Two: 2 Hour hands-on training
- Monthly meetings to debrief and support one another
Crisis Intervention staff are available for support to you 24 hours a day. Your health and well-being are just as important as the youth with whom you are helping.
