Art Sparks volunteers help support visitors as they learn about art through various hands on crafts in the Speed’s newly renovated intergenerational activity space - Art Sparks. These exhibits encourage visitors of all ages to explore, discuss, and create art. Volunteers are primarily responsible for welcoming visitors into the interactive area and introducing them to activities, supporting visitor learning through familiarity with the function and purpose of Art Sparks, and supporting Art Sparks staff by assisting with set-up and exhibit upkeep. Volunteers may also help with art-making classes on Sundays. Weekend shifts are well as weekday shifts are available.
Ideal Art Sparks volunteers enjoy working with families, students, and guests of all ages. Flexibility in willingness to assist with tasks such as cleaning, cutting paper, or organizing materials is necessary. Art Sparks volunteer are creative, yet patient. Ability to work in both a slow-paced and fast-paced environment is essential. Volunteers must be punctual and reliable.
