We're looking for volunteers to research media and organizational contacts that we'll connect with at various stages of our Children Save Ocean United Nations project, initiated by concerned children to clean the ocean. There are also several additional opportunities that might fit your interests. Please see more about the project at:

Check out the web site...the 12 year old kids have done so much, but for their vision to come true, we're going to need a little help.

We have several potential opportunities available where we could use your help, listed below in order of priority...though they are all important. Do any of these sound like something you’d like to bite into? Please let us know if and exactly which of these appeal to you (preferably more than one).

  • Research on blogs: Environmental, ocean, pollution, eco, ecology.
  • Research on contacts of any writers/magazines who/that mentions Boyan Slat, Ocean cleanup, Marcus Eriksen, 5 Gyres Institute.
  • Research on Magazine and newspaper editors of: Environmental, children's teaching and education magazines. environmental press list:
    • environmental media:"
    • forums: environmental, children's issues, education, teaching
  • Run Twitter campaign. Twitter is both about finding and following people who do relevant work, and posting useful and/or compelling information about that topic. So, whenever you would have free time, you could research, follow and post. I’d additionally post occasionally. And importantly, you would help us decide the strategy to take, something you’d no learn about from your research. This would later be extremely useful to help kick this issue further into the public’s awareness, as you’ll realize when you dig into it.
  • Research the process/costs to set up a non-profit in California; research funding options for a non-profit working both in areas of ocean conservation, ocean clean-up, and child education.
  • Research Facebook groups about the following issues: activism, activist art, children's art, environmental, children's, teaching and education.
  • Research contact list of university radio stations.
  • Connect with prominent artists to raise money in Vienna, Austria (artists can be located anywhere-preferably representing the globe)- get pledges/donations of art; find email addresses of potential spaces for fund-raiser.
  • Research potential big-pocket funders of contest prize for new materials (alternatives to plastic)

At our United Nations Summit in Vienna in June, 2018, we plan to have a "Volunteers" table, with nice pictures of volunteers who made wonderful contributions, with a bit information about your age, profession, location, and why you decided to help. We’ll take a nice photo of the table in the midst of the event and send it to you as a very small thank you. I’ll send you a form for this later after I’ve put it together. The press will certainly be there and see you if you decide to join us. :-)

Hope you join our team.
