Mission Statement
The mission of Sustainable Roots is to initiate and support projects that empower communities to preserve their natural and cultural resources.
Description
We are a small grassroots organization located in Cosanga, Napo, Ecuador.
Sustainable Roots is dedicated to environmental preservation and sustainable development in communities of Latin America. We strive to enable communities to develop a healthy, sustainable, local economy and environment, all while maintaining their cultural pride and heritage. We work hand in hand with local residents and see our role as facilitators of projects born from the communities ideas and needs.
We carry out both educational and environmental work, which is where our volunteers come in. They can participate in teaching English, maintaining the gardens through organic farming, or designing their own projects which focus on sustainable development.
