The Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival (VVCBF), now entering its 10th year, is an annual celebration of comic books, science fiction and pop culture held in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are a free one day long mini-comic con which spun out of the Vegas Valley Book Festival. The goal of the VVCBF is the promotion of literacy and creativity through comics. This year's VVCBF will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017.

  • Description of Tasks: Volunteers will help direct patrons to panels, assist festival guests as needed, monitoring arts and crafts table, distribute program updates, monitor panels, assist with line control, and other tasks as needed the day of the festival.
  • Location: Clark County Library 1401 E. Flamingo Rd. Las Vegas, NV 89119
  • Volunteer Capacity: 10
  • Description of training provided: Volunteers will attend a brief orientation session to familiarize them with the layout of the facility, key staff members, and best practices for volunteering with us shortly before the festival. They will also schedule their shift for the festival during this time.
  • Time/Date capacities: Saturday 11/5/16 from 8am to 6pm.

Description

The Las Vegas-Clark County Library District (LVCCLD) serves 1.5 million people and covers over 8,000 square miles-larger than the state of Connecticut. It is an independent government agency and is not part of Las Vegas city government or the Clark County government. The system is made up of 13 urban and 11 outlying branches.
