ORGANIZATION: Tuk Tuk for Children Ltd

Kamishibai in Cambodian Kindergarten
Tuk Tuk for Children staff member reading a kamishibai story in rural Cambodian kindergarten.

Part of our Tuk Tuk for Children team are 2 local Khmer adults who wish to improve their English skills so as to benefit the roles that they undertake in our charity work. Currently these are two young adults who have reasonable basic English skills and can freely converse with native speakers of English. The teaching would be in the areas of speaking, reading and writing. We believe that this could be achieved by engaging a virtual volunteer to work with them online on a regular basis having, for example, a Skype session...We envisage say as a minimum of 2-3 times a week for perhaps one hour. Extra work could also be set outside this time and discussed online when complete.
The actual content and format of the classes would be up for discussion to suit all parties. We would like to talk to you if you believe that you have the skills, time and desire to help.

Mission Statement

To deliver the children of rural Cambodia quality education, sanitation, nutrition, and entertainment with a focus on early childhood education.

Description

Tuk Tuk for Children (TT4C) is a small charity with big ideas. We first started out in 2015 visiting villages to show movies and aleviete some of the stress for children growing up in poverty in Cambodia. Basically we wanted to give kids back their childhood.

Fast forward to today and we have expanded into Kindergarten education with our mobile toy and book library with monthly visits to the kindergartens and teacher training workshops. This project is operated in concunction with the department of education and aligns with the Cambodian kindergarten curriculum.

With your help, the sky is the limit on what we can acheive!
