Friends from Meals on Wheels--a friendly home visitor program for seniors receiving Meals on Wheels in Santa Clara County--is looking for students who have an interest in physical/occupational therapy. Volunteers would apply their knowledge and utilize our ready to use at-home physical activity guide to help homebound older adults receive weekly exercise.
We are actively searching for those who are personable, passionate, and motivated towards health and health education. All educational tools will be provided although your own transportation is needed as these clients are all homebound with no way to get to a certain location.
Requirements: Valid driver’s licenses, car insurance, reliable car, yearly TB test, background check, and undergo orientation.
Commitment: 2-4 hours per month for 4-6 months.
Please contact Mayra Catalán, Community Partnerships Supervisor at volunteers@healthtrust.org

Mission Statement
Our Mission: To build health equity in the Silicon Valley.
Description
Our Vision:
The Health Trust believes every Silicon Valley resident should have the opportunity to live a healthy life.
How:
We at The Health Trust believe that if Silicon Valley is a community where innovation is changing the world, then it also can be a community where innovation changes the lives of everyone - especially our most vulnerable residents - for the better.
As we strive to make our vision reality, we reflect the values of Silicon Valley. When we tackle a problem, we take the broad view. We rely on expertise, partnerships and best practices to generate solutions that will have the greatest impact on those we serve. We invest in projects that are sustainable, show measurable results and provide the greatest return on investment for the community.
With a strong emphasis on prevention, we focus our work through three initiatives: Healthy Living, Healthy Aging and Healthy Communities. Through direct services, we are helping one person at a time. And through policy advocacy and grantmaking, we are changing the local environment to promote healthy eating, healthy aging and healthy living.
